UNF Internship

“Experience art through the eyes of children.”

Interns implement and participate in artistic activities with individuals and
in-group settings. This includes providing creative art sessions with patients to help ease the stress and anxiety associated with chronic
illness and hospitalization. Interns can also assist with a monthly Visiting Artist series with recognized artists in the community.

UNF art interns are required to attend a 4-hour orientation at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, fill out the necessary paperwork including a background check, and work a minimum of 3 hours per week (hours available Monday thru Friday between 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) at the
hospital for the duration of the term. When taken as an Independent Studies course three credit hours are earned. For more information on
how to become an intern and take this Independent Studies course,
please contact: Professor Louise Freshman-Brown at 904-620-3813. (Please note that students can only take the Internship if they are one of Louise Freshman-Brown’s students.)
